How Often Should I Feed My Dog?

Usually, this question becomes among the significant ones that the dog owners and dog lovers ask. While taking about feeding ratio of puppies of first 6 weeks, they should be feed with proper amount of milk, 5 or 7 times per day. If the puppy wants to be feed, it usually generates some sound that is easy to recognize by the puppy owner.

The frequency of feeding may be decreased when the puppy age reaches 6 to 8 years old. After a puppy reaches to 4 weeks, it may begin to intake some solid food items as well. Therefore, during this age, the puppy should be feed with mixture of solid food items and sufficient amount of water. And if the puppy get suffered by diarrhea, then it’s better to delay its feeding process.

It usually takes place due to trail of providing basis food items, so you should consider a lot regarding this matter. The frequency of feeding may alter to 2 or 3 times after the dog’s age reaches to 8 weeks. If the dog at that period appears hungry craving for the foods, then provide the food materials only once rather than your estimated number. This food providing numbers differs with variation in dogs’ breed.

However, you should avoid providing excessive food to your dog in this period. Your puppy will be teething in about 3 to 6 months of age. Hence, limit the dog feeding to 2 times only but remember you should provide balanced nutritious food during these times because if you’ll not then your dog will experience deficiency-based symptoms.

From 6 to 12 months, try to use foods that are manufactured focusing to feed puppies and they are easily available in the Commercial field. However, the adult foods can be provided to the dogs after they reach their first year. Keep in mind that after your dog turns out to an elder dog, you should limit its feeding frequency because their movement is highly reduced at that period due to numerous reasons.
